Autumn/ Winter Must Haves

Autumn /Winter is quickly approaching, and as the days start to get shorter and the weather takes a nose dive, I'm slowly realising I need a serious wardrobe overhaul. I'm sure if my bank card broke tomorrow and I couldn't buy any new season clothes, I would survive with what I've got… but where’s the fun in that! As you will have seen from my last post, all about my top picks from Forever 21 it features a lot of colder weather staples.  These items are what I am considering my “must haves”, not necessarily the exact item but any variation in this style. These are just a few of some of the best I've found.

For me the autumn winter is all about comfort and layering up, and a key part of that is oversized. This asos beauty is a perfect in-between of oversized and frumpy and the cricket style makes it very easy to wear with a variety of outfit options.

The horrendous Liverpool wind means my hair can go from fab to frizzy in a matter of minutes, so one of these bad boys help to holds down my fly-aways whilst I wander around.

I am a massive boot fan and wear them pretty much all year round, but Autumn Winter is the perfect time to repurchase a few pairs. I think these ones are the perfect heel height for day to day. I would always get a brown and black option so have a look at my previous post, to see other boot picks for the season.

I have developed a new love for patterned trousers and I think these monochrome ones are a prefect transition from Summer to Autumn. They are loose enough to still be airy but the dark colours bring them into this season, and make them super easy to style.

Gloves, I suppose are pretty much self-explanatory for the colder climate. These leather ones, though on the pricier side look great but also have a fleece lining which will keep your pegs toasty all Winter long.

Everyone needs a coat, but I had to include this one as it’s currently in the asos sale and is most definitely worth a look.  I would suggest looking at coats now, because as soon as the new collections come in the prices will sky rocket ,and I hate paying full price just due to timing. Now is the time to keep your eyes peeled.

Brand Picks - Forever 21

Normally I have to say Forever 21 is a bit like Marmite for me, it’s very love or hate depending on when and where I shop. When it first arrived in the UK the price conversions were very strange and in a lot of cases the quality didn't match up to the prices, however, this then caused more confusion when I got some great jeans for only £7. For me Forever 21 is hit or miss, so I decided to chance my luck and have a look at the new items they have brought in for the change of season and I was very pleasantly surprised. Some items pricing is still a bit far off the mark considering I have only viewed online and can’t guarantee the quality, but I definitely think it’s worth a nosy. Below is what I have pulled and will be going to scout out in my local store.

Top Bloggers of the Moment

Still being a relatively new blogger one thing I absolutely love is the blogging community, especially beauty bloggers. From the re tweeting and commenting on Twitter to the liking and sharing on Bloglovin this community is so supportive and I decided its about time I jump in on this "love in" myself. These posts will be the blogs I just can't get enough of, and most importantly inspire me to carry on blogging. I love finding new blogs so make sure you tweet me links so I can discover yours.

First up is Kate over on beautiboe Kate is an avid beauty and fashion blogger who posts nearly every day, which puts me to shame. Her tone and the way she writes is easy to read and makes each post a pleasure to read. Make sure you go and give her some love, as a fellow newbie on the scene she defo deserves it.

Second is a blog I followed before I really even started following blogs- if that makes sense. I used to google Victoria over on vipxo ebay posts when I was a student for fashion inspiration. The things this girl finds are amazing and I spend hours trawling the internet to find some of her outfits from previous posts. Not only is her style, and bargain hunting capability on point she, like me, has been on a weight loss journey and her recipes are so useful for keeping me on track.

the sunday girl blog image

Next up is a blog I discovered through Instagram, and it's the lovely Adrienne over on The Sunday Girl . On her home page alone you can see how beautiful her blog is, from the layout to photography it's flawless. Not only does it look amazing, but her content is great and her posts have enabled far too many purchases over the last month.

All these girls are great and amazing examples of the power of blogging, so if you are looking for some more beauty and fashion content in your life, make sure you go and follow them all.

Hair History... What next?

As you can probably tell from the picture above I have had almost every type of hair colour going. From natural brown, to red, purple, ombre and most recently blonde. I started going blonde slowly about two years ago and as you can see from the pictures, was very blonde for about a year. I loved it, my hair did not! About 6 months ago my frazzled hair couldn't take it any more and I realised I was going to have to give it a break for a while before I ended up having to wear a wig for life!
I asked my hairdresser for the best option and she suggested semi permanent brown all pained over my roots and blended leaving some of the bleach at the bottom. Due to it being semi permanent it slowly faded and I now have very noticeable blonde ends to my hair, a natural dip dye if you will.

This picture is the most recent one I have of my hair, and although I love how healthy it is, and how much it is growing, there is a little voice in my head making me want a change. Looking back at all these pictures is really tempting me to book an appointment and go back to blonde, but I just don't know if I can commit.

This is where I would love your input and advice. Any blondies gone to the dark side? What's the best way of going back ? Is it worth the money and upkeep? All this and any other pearls of wisdom would be great.

Budget Friendly Homeware Haul

So if you've been following my blog for a while you may have noticed two things; one, I love pastel colour anything and two, I can't stop buying homeware. Oh and three - I LOVE A BARGAIN!
This haul is a combination of all of the above, a bargain filled homeware haul with a pastel explosion! Sadly due to the type of shops I picked all this up from I can't add any links as they don't put much online, however, I will add where I got them all and if you have a store nearby I only got them this weekend, so run!

Number one, you will have had a sneak peak of if you follow me on Twitter or Instagram, is my beautiful new chair. Now technically this is the only thing that could be seen as not a bargain as it was a big purchase but significantly reduced. This baby was from TK Maxx and due to massive sales in store I got it for a steal of £180. It's so comfy and I think the perfect size, not to mention perfect colour. The cushion is also a bargain from Tesco reduced to £2.50 and I think gives the perfect pop of colour.

Next up is from one of my favourite low cost stores B&M Bargains the cutest little cake tray. Was only meant to be £2.99, but for some crazy reason was only £1. I will defo be whipping up some sweet treats in this.

Another B&M steal here, I have to admit I do not own one vase, last valentines day my roses lived their life in a mug... opps! So this little beauty screamed out at me, it may be a jug but I will most definitely be buying some flowers to fill this with.  Again this was only meant to be £3.99 but for some reason was reduced to clear at £1.99, they had lots of different colours so I'm kicking myself now for not picking up the pink one too, but maybe I have enough pastels for now aye.

My final purchase at B&M today was reserved till last as they are definitely my favourites. These gorgeous little pastel pans could not be left behind. To be honest they are not really practical as they are tiny ( I know the picture is deceiving) but I don't care they are too cute. The small pans are £2.99 and the frying pan was £1.99 and they are new stock so if you fancy these beauties make sure you pop into store.

One of my all time favourite shops, that I can't help but buy everything in is, Home Bargains, tell me I'm not alone on this? This cute little sweet jar was only  £1.99 and makes a beautiful addition to my beauty table filled with cotton pads- what else. I actually picked up two of these, at £1.99 each I would be silly not to.

Any followers who read my Payday Wishlist series may recognise this lantern. It was from Tesco and I mentioned it when they first launched their Sherbert Crush collection. I'm not sure if they are getting rid of this collection but most of the stuff is now reduced, this included at only £2.50. I can't wait to put a huge pillar candle in it and find its perfect spot.

So what do you think of my crazy pastel house? Do you have an suggestions on where I can get anymore house bargains?

Memories of the month #1

I realised the other day that since I started blogging in May I have done very few posts about me and my life. Seeing as blogging is somewhat of an on-line diary I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to reminisce on the past couple of months, and what better way to do that than through flipping back through my modern day photo album, Instagram. If you don't already follow me head over to my page and keep in touch that way.

1.Sadly I don't have a puppy, but this little snap is of my boyfriends mums dog Alfie. This was when we were dog sitting, isn't he just the cutest ball of fluff.

2. This humidity is killing my hair and these are my hair saviours at the moment to keep those fly always at bay. Read my entire hair Holy Trinity post for more information.

3.Ok so I know I said Alfie was the cutest ball of fluff but this is the new addition to Dans family. Meet Freddie !

4.I have developed a bit of an obsession with Kit Kat Chunkys at the moment and when your house mate brings you one as a treat on a Monday night, it deserves an Instagram post, right?

5.This beauty is my first ever furniture purchase. I ummed and ahhed about this for a few weeks but finally bit the bullet and purchased this from TK Maxx this weekend.

6. Living in the north makes it difficult being away from your family, but I am lucky my grandma lives not too far away. This is her and my sister at a family BBQ this summer.

7. TAKE ME BACK! This is the obligatory "I'm on holiday" post from Turkey this Summer.
8. I went on a  girls night last month and this was the aftermath of getting ready. Every make up girls bed looks like this, doesn't it?

9.Two words - Treat day!

10. If you come to Liverpool, you need to visit Lucha Libre the best Mexican food I've had in a long time. Plus you get proper American house party red cups, what more could you need?

11. More dogs, I think you can see a theme emerging here. This time I think I'm defo being replaced by Millie in Dans eyes.

12. My best friends in the world on a beautiful wedding day. See all the pictures here.

13.I went to San Francisco in January and this repost was me reminiscing.

14. Wouldn't be an Instagram post without a cheeky selfie in there. This is me after I'd taken out my pin curls ready for a work awards evening.
